Description: Like his siblings from the same dam, DASAHI has a wonderful temperament. He is well-put together, is affectionate (and loves to be scratched!). He has inherited his sire's gaits with an outstanding trot.
November 2008: Dasahi has now been lightly backed, and is going walk, trot and canter. He shows much promise – and waiting for that special person...
July 2010 - Dasahi competes in his first Gold drressage show at Training Level.
About DASAHI's sire: DON RICO, stands at stud at Centaur Riding School in Navan, Ontario. Don Rico was bred to be a dressage star.
Both his sire and dam-sire are dressage superstars: DON FREDERICO is presently being billed as Celle's New Shooting Star because of his "Breeding Value" (released by the German Equestrian Federation). This "breeding value" is an indicator for performance inheritability of a sire. The 2005 Breeding Value Index includes 2,738 dressage stallions, and Don Frederico came out on top.
Don Rico's dam-sire, HOHENSTEIN, is one of the most sought after sires available today. He is a gorgeous black stallion by the legend Caprimond. Both DON FREDERICO and HOHENSTEIN came second in their stallion testing, and both won the dressage portion with extremely high marks. Both have had sons sell for upwards of 500,000 Euros. HOHENSTEIN is trained to Grand Prix dressage, and the younger DON FREDERICO is now competing at Intermediare 1.
Our Don Rico was born in Germany and imported to Canada by Hannover Imports. Although Rico is not presently being trained in the riding ring, he has been ridden lightly showing himself to be easy-going, willing and rideable, along with superb movement in all three gaits. With his imposing presence and exceptional movement Don Rico is very special.
Since 2005, when Rico’s first crop of foals were born, more youngsters have been born every year– big, correct, solid foals, inheriting their sire’s outstanding, ground-covering movement and friendly temperament. All future dressage stars, with athletic jumping ability!
Don Rico is turned out with others - a true testament to his good nature.
