DUNBAR
Sire: DON RICO Dam: GABRIELLE
Dunbar is an easy-going horse who will make a great partner for an amateur rider.
Aug 2011 - Dunbar has been backed and is going under saddle.
March 2012 - starting to go in a frame. Has been free-jumped a few times, and loves it! Willingly and calmly canters to fence without hesitation.
November 2012 - jumps small courses with lead changes. Goes very well in a frame at all gaits. Hacks, trailers, clips. Shows a super attitude, well beyond his 4 years... Carries himself with elegance.
May 2013 - See the May 2013 video: This was Dunbar's first show ever He won with 67.8% at this Gold Dressage Show, despite a wrong lead!! He received 7.5 for gaits from a Senior judge. He behaved like a pro. The attitude that Dunbar has is exactly what you see in these video clips. It was a windy and cold day - you can see the trees blowing, and there was a lot of traffic on the nearby road, but Dunbar paid this no mind.
Aug 2013 - Now wins his first First Level test at a Gold Show. Good boy!
Training counter canters, all lateral movements, flying changes (does them clean).
Dunbar is only 5 years old, he has won at Gold dressage shows, he jumps, does clean changes in his courses. He loads, travels well, loves to be bathed with a hose, hacks well. He can live inside or out 24/7 - he has done both. He has good feet - never needed shoes. He has never been sore nor sick (knock on wood!) He is an excellent prospect for an amateur rider because of his temperament, but also has good movement and balance for a more advanced rider who wants to compete at higher levels.
Dunbar is a beautiful liver chestnut in colour - just like his gr-grand-dad Donnerhall. His gr-grand-dad on his dam line is the famous Gepard, who stood at Paul Schockemohle's. (Gepard was Shutterfly's sire.)
